Forest School and Outdoor Learning
In January 2016 we were very lucky to be given our Forest School Site by Nicholsons Nurseries and Berkeley Reafforestation Trust.
Children throughout the school are able to do some of their learning outdoors and they all benefit from this opportunity.
Over the Easter holidays in 2016, Wheatley-based construction company Greenford Ltd coordinated a small group of Oxfordshire businesses to build a new shelter, free of charge, for the outdoor learning area.
Supplies and materials for the new shelter were donated by machinery hire company Greenplant, building supply company Jewson, College Scaffolding, and Ian Rycroft Photography which provided a time-lapse camera to record the build. Click on the link below to see how they did it.
The Oxford Mail also published an article about the build:
The children fundraised in January 2016 to buy our 6 chickens. They are very involved in taking care of them. Our chickens have settled in really well and the children are fantastic with them, learning to feed and handle them properly and helping collect their eggs.
We produce about 6 boxes a week, so if you would like a box please sign the list at the office and as soon as we have some ready for you we will call you. Free range and delicious - we hope you enjoy them!
