Statutory Assessment in Year 1 , Year 2 and Year 6

 

Children in Year 1 are required to sit a Phonics Screening Test.  If a child does not gain enough marks to pass the screening in Year 1 they sit another test in Year 2.

The government have released interim assessment frameworks for 2017 for Year 2 and Year 6. The links below provide the criteria for how schools must teacher assess children at the end of Year 2 and Year 6 this year.

 

In addition to teacher assessment, pupils in Year 2 and Year 6 will undertake a range of tests in May.

In Year 2 and 6 a parent meeting is arranged in order to go over a few key pieces of information about SATs and what this entails for your child. Your child's class teacher will inform you of the dates and timings of these meetings.

 

In Year 1 a letter is sent to all parents explaining the Phonic Screening Test.
